Evan Loeffler, an attorney and principle of the Loeffler Law Group PLLC, joins us to provide an update on Landlord/Tenant Laws, including Evictions. The Loeffler Law Group is a real estate law firm in Seattle with over 20 years of experience in landlord-tenant relations and litigation. Their firm emphasizes landlord/tenant law and has assisted thousands of landlords, property managers and owners in the Puget Sound to resolve legal disputes involving evictions, litigation, post-foreclosure matters, leases and other landlord-tenant disputes. |

The Eviction Moratorium is currently set to expire on June 30, 2021 as is the Foreclosure Moratorium, with the later a source of properties for many of us as they come on line.
Some of the properties at the trustee (foreclosure) sale will be tenant occupied. Many of us have some incredible tenants but others tell us of current rental units that have non-paying tenants, some with significant amounts owed, or tenants with other issues. As many of you know, many of the non-paying tenants have no apparent job loss or other circumstances that warrant their current delinquency.

| The Washington State Legislature made significant changes to the Landlord/Tenant Law in May 2021 that may affect your processes and rights and will be included in the information provided at this meeting. We'll come up to date on the law and try to unravel it a bit to learn where we're going from here. |

Mr. Loeffler went before the Washington State Supreme Court In May 2021 on an expedited basis on behalf of the landlord regarding the Washington State Eviction Moratorium. As of this writing there is yet to be a ruling. We'll learn the latest from Evan Loeffler.

| Evan Loeffler of Loeffler Law Group. Evan Loeffler is an attorney who focuses and provides guidance on Landlord / Tenant / Eviction laws. He has extensive knowledge and litigation experience and is an author and contributor to several chapters on landlord-tenant law in the Washington Lawyers Practice Manual published and annually updated by the King County Bar Association. Mr. Loeffler is the co-author of the Real Estate Closing Deskbook, Third Edition, published by the American Bar Association. Mr. Loeffler lectures frequently for property managers and lawyers on landlord-tenant law and ethics and serves landlords, property manager and owners.

Registration and Prepayment Deadlines
- Registration is open now! This Seattle REIA Chapter Meeting is open to both REIA Members and Guests with registration on this website. Please note that seating is very limited due to social distancing guidelines; early registration is strongly recommended.
- Prepayment Required. Prepay the event fee using the link that will be provided to registrants by email. Links will be sent by email throughout the registration period though not necessarily on the same day that you register. REIA Members, please note that we are charging a minimal event fee for what would normally be a free event to help offset increased meeting costs during COVID. It is a small event fee but we''ll be glad when it becomes a thing of the past too!
- Wednesday, June 16th. Registration closes for everyone. All class fees are due by this date.
- Thursday, June 17th. Prepayment is required prior to 10:00 AM. Sorry, we cannot make exceptions. Registrations for those who have not prepaid their event fees will be cancelled. We will contact those on the waiting list in the order of registration.
- Thursday, June 17th. Meeting day!
- TAKE NOTE: Due to social distancing and capacity limitations, seating is very limited! Early registration and early prepayment is essential if you want to attend!

| If registration shows "full" sign up on the waiting list! A spot may open up! If there is enough demand on the waiting list we will try to offer a second meeting or enlarge the meeting room. Those who have not registered and prepaid this class will not be able to attend. No exceptions can be made. |
