Position Title: Quality Resource Coordinator
Location: Savannah, GA
Description:

The Quality Management Resource Coordinator (QMRC) provides coordination for Medical Staff performance improvement functions with Medical Staff department and committee chairpersons and Hospital department directors, managers, and clinical staff for the purpose of problem identification, investigation and resolution. The QMRC assumes responsibility for screening of medical records against approved medical staff criteria as required by medical staff and accrediting agencies. The QMRC assists in data collection, aggregation and analysis; demonstrating the use of appropriate assessment skills for patients of all ages.

Screens medical records for quality issues using approved criteria

Identifies and assess potential quality issues through chart review and data abstracts for peer review; collaborates with Risk Management for occurrences or issues with potential for hospital and/or medical staff risks; monitors, evaluates and tracks issues to assure resolution; and maintains accurate records to reflect the review process. Prepares FPPE for new appointees to the medical staff and current medical staff requesting new privileges. Reviews and processes Quantros (incident and/or behavior) reports and special studies as requested by committee, department chair or VPMA.

Provides support for medical staff ongoing monitoring for performance improvement.

Collaborates with committee chairpersons and assists in preparing agendas, minutes, follow-up, supporting documents and aggregate data for committee review and discussion and conducts follow-up as required for committee action. Assists medical staff with review and revision of approved screening criteria. Assists physicians with focused review, on-going review and special studies.

Facilitates the flow of performance improvement information/data through the system

Participates in preparing minutes of peer review/performance improvement committees and prepares summaries of peer review committees for reporting to the Medical Executive Committee and medical staff departments. Promotes collaboration between medical staff, clinical and ancillary staff for improving patient care and conformance to regulatory requirements.

Participates in hospital performance improvement committees/teams

Assists in designing and piloting forms for data collection, aggregation and reporting for performance improvement. Promotes collaboration between medical staff, clinical and ancillary staff for improving patient care and conformance to regulatory requirements. Participates in training, orientation and development of new hires to maintain excellence in the department.

Supports physician/physician extender health activities

Administers and reads annual TB skin tests. Administers annual influenza vaccination. Tracks and reports influenza vaccination compliance as required.

Required Skills:

Knowledge of continuous quality improvement preferred.

3 - 5 years of Acute care clinical experience preferred.

Experience in use of quality improvement processes and tools preferred.

Previous performance improvement responsibilities or position preferred.

Healthcare Quality certification preferred.

Computer applications (Meditech, Microsoft Outlook, Work, Excel) preferred.

Required Education:

Bachelors in Nursing preferred.

Knowledge of continuous quality improvement preferred.

3 - 5 years of Acute care clinical experience preferred.

Experience in use of quality improvement processes and tools preferred.

Previous performance improvement responsibilities or position preferred.

Healthcare Quality certification preferred.

Professional License with State of Practice required.
